Call to Order: – Meeting was called to order by Chairperson David Schmidt at 4:05 p.m.

Roll Call: – As listed above.

Financial Report: - Ms. Becky O’Connor gave a brief review of the monthly financial report.  Ms. O’Connor reported a total income of $3,847, expenses of $4,603 and a net of -$757.  Bank balance as of March 31, 2006 was $26,999.  Moshi cash balance as of February 28, 2006 was $17,843. 


Approval of Minutes:  The minutes of February 2, 2006 were reviewed.  A motion was made by Jimmy Mihori to approve the March 2, 2006 minutes, seconded by Bill Wilsher.  All voted aye. 


Miyazu Committee: -

Hatsume Festival – Ms. O’Connor reported revenues of $2,021 and expense of $551 resulting in a net income of $1,470.

Update on Golf Tournament Date: -  Mr. Barcinski reported the Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 6, 2006 at the Delray Beach Municipal Golf Course.  Chairperson Schmidt requested volunteers to assist with the Tournament.  Mr. Barcinski presented to the Board a proposed budget and prize schedule for the Golf Tournament.  A motion was made by Mr. Bill Wilsher to approve the proposed budget and prize schedule as presented, seconded by Beth Johnston.  All voted aye.

Student Presentation at Morikami: - Chairperson Schmidt reported that the March 16th students presentation at the Morikami Museum went very well. 


Moshi Committee: -

Trip to Africa/Teacher Exchange Program: – Co-Chairperson Ngozi Mensah reported he is requesting interest from the community to attend the trip planned for Africa.  The trip is scheduled for June 25, 2006 through July 7, 2006.  Ms. Charlotte Durante stated the first trip to Africa should consist of teachers (meet and greet).  After their visit to Africa this information should be brought back to the Board to see what the need is in Moshi. 


Update on Safari Dinner:  – Co-Chairperson Mensah reported the dinner is set for April 22nd at the Delray Beach Golf Club.  Information about the event will be posted on the City’s website.  A Tanzania Committee meeting is set for April 10th at Ngozi Mensah’s home.

Special Committee Reports: -

President’s Report – No report.

Young Artist Contest – Chairperson Schmidt reported he received an e-mail from Nancy King stating the submission she received were from three (3) schools for the Young Artist Contest.  The overall winner for the contest is from Unity School.  The Young Artist Contest reception is scheduled for April 17, 2006 at 530 p.m. at Old School Square.

Non-Agenda Items –Mr. Charles Hardiman reported he is working with Pineapple Grove, Joe Gillie (Old School Square), and Paul Dorling (City of Delray Beach – Planning and Zoning Department) on the monument for Sister Cities.
