Regular Meeting Minutes
Location: City Hall, First Floor Conference Room

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 4:38 p.m. by President David Schmidt.
Roll Call: As listed above.
Agenda Approval: A motion was made to amend the agenda by adding Insurance to the agenda by Bill Wilsher and seconded by n’Detenga n’Gurumo. All voted aye.
Financial Report: The financial report was given by David Schmidt in Becky O’Connor’s absence for the month March 2009. David reported revenue of $11,069 and expenses of $9,018 with a net income of $2,051 to date. The cash bank balance was reported as $47,086 with $16,199 of the balance reserved for Moshi and $30,887 for Miyazu as of March 31, 2009. This does not include Hatsume. A motion to accept the financial report was made by Oz Mensah and seconded by Bill Wilsher. All voted aye.
Approval of Minutes: A motion to accept the March 5, 2009 minutes was made by Bill Wilsher and seconded by Oz Mensah. All voted aye.

*Oz, Rhonda and Dave went back to the zoo, all looks good to go
*Animal handlers will be at the entrance of the zoo
*Students to meet & greet guests and sell raffle tickets
*Need to know from Tony what students will be helping
*Registration will be set up by fountain
*Signature drink will be “Jungle Juice”
*In the process of getting beer donated
*Table sit 6 or 8, there will be one head table with Ambassador, Mayor, Commission, Addie Green, etc.
*Rhonda/Oz will do set up, Donna registration
*Oz/Rhonda to work on the program
*The night will end with a water show at the fountain
*There will be no Safari Bus – no interest
*Tanzanian Ambassador and his wife are coming to the dinner
*David to see if he can get the Marriott to donate a room for the Ambassador
*Rosanne will do a press release on the Ambassador attending the dinner
*Need the Ambassador’s itinerary
Sister Schools: Janet Meeks will work on the proclamation for Sister Cities Schools for the May 5th Commission Meeting.
Young Artist Competition: Awards will be Monday, April 6th at Old School Square, 5:30 – 6:30 pm. There are 32 entries from 3 schools, Unity, Atlantic and American Heritage.
Insurance: David reported that Liquor Liability Insurance for Hatsume is $1,133 and D & O Liability Insurance is $850/year. A motion was made to buy insurances, alcohol and liability by Bill Wilsher and seconded by Rhonda Mensah. All voted aye. Still have to purchase insurance for the Safari Dinner.
New Business: Charles Hardiman reported that Gene Fisher is still working on getting artwork for Pineapple Grove.
Non-Agenda Item: Next meeting will be the Thursday, May 7, 2009 @ 4:30 p.m., in the First Floor Conference Room.
