Dear Mr. n'Gurumo,
On behalf of our Sister Cities Committee and all residents of Moshi Municipality, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to you personally, all residents of the City of Delray Beach and the entire Americans following the terrorist attack on 11 September 2001. We in Moshi and, indeed, all Tanzanians have received with great shock the tragic news of the attack of the twin towers of the World Trade Centre in New York and a section of the Pentagon in Washington. It was the worst murder and destruction on the US Mainland in recent history.
We join hands with our President, Hon. Benjamin W. Mkapa, to condemn in the strongest terms the senseless acts of terrorism and a callous disregard for human life. As a country that lost its own people to terrorist acts on the American embassies in Tanzania and Kenya three years ago, we are acutely aware of the trauma that such terrorist acts can unleash upon innocent people.
During this period of deep sorrow, we can hardly find the right words to comfort the bereaved families, but it may suffice to say that we share their grief and agony. We also wish the injured a speedy recovery.

It is our sincere hope that your monumental struggle to track down the terrorists who committed the acts as well as those who harboured them will subject the victims to justice as a counter attack to the perpetration of the dreadful attacks.
With deepest sympathy,
Shaibu Z. Muyinga
