IMPORTANT NOTE: With the interest and intent to make the visit of our guests as pleasant and beneficial as possible throughout their entire stay with us, some of the specific details of this proposed schedule will need to be modified once DBSC is given the exact schedule of arrival (Date, Time, Flight #, arriving Airport) of our guests; the number of guests, names, gender, and other pertinent information i.e. Job Title, Special Interest, Business, Professional Governmental position for each guest, and what they may represent.


THIS PROPOSED SCHEDULE IS BASED ON AN ARRIVAL DATE (no specific time is known yet) OF MONDAY, APRIL 22, 2002 AND A LEAVE DATE PROPOSED TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FOR MONDAY 4/29/02


Monday, 4/22

-DBSC Representative to meet guests at airport with transportation to their selected Delray Beach accommodations.
-Welcome Reception (short & informal since guest will be tired from long trip)


Tuesday, 4/23

-1:00pm Visit City facilities: Police Department, Fire Department, Water treatment Plant -5:00pm Relax, Refresh
-6:00pm City Commission meeting
-7:00pm Dinner (place TBA)


Wednesday, 4/24
-7:30am Kiwanis Club regular meeting breakfast
-Tour Delray Beach Public Library
-Visit Chamber of Commerce
-Visit S. D. Spady House
-12:30 noon Public School Lunch & Tour Carver Middle School is proposed
-Tour Trinity Lutheran School (students from this private school sent letters to Moshi) - Visit Blood's Grove
-5:00pm Relax, Refresh
-7:00pm Cook-Out at home of Fred & Dale Briese


Thursday, 4/25
-Visit Moving Waters Industries (Including Lunch hosted by Company)
-Cruise on Consul Bergh's Boat (M/V "SERENGETI").
-Dinner location TBA (great if it could be at a location where boat may dock such as Busch's Restaurant)
NOTE: Guests from DBSC Sister City of Miyazu, Japan may be arriving
on Thursday 4/25. If so, the dinner meal for the evening will be an official one including Delray Beach Mayor David W. Schmidt to formally welcome both Moshi and Miyazu and present gifts.


Friday 4/26 (Moshi)
-FREE TIME & SHOPPING MALL until 1:00pm
-1:00pm to 2:00pm RELAX, REFRESH (Miyazu)

-10:00am to 1:00pm TBA activity hosted by Japan American Society
FLORIDA SISTER CITIES ANNUAL STATE CONVENTION BEGINS WITH REGISTRATION
AND ACTIVITES AVAILABLE AS OF 1:00pm FRIDAY, 4/26 AND CONTINUES TO
-12:00noon ON SUNDAY, 4/28. MOSHI & MIYAZU GUESTS ITINERARY IS SAME AS
-PROGRAM FOR DELEGATES TO THE CONVENTION FOR THOSE DAYS AND TIMES.
-FRIDAY 4/26 (continued as Florida Sister Cities Annual State
-Convention agenda)
-1:00pm Registration desk opens for Florida Sister Cities State Convention (at Marriott Hotel)
-2:00pm History Tour of Delray Beach. Plans are for this tour to be conducted by the Delray Beach Historical Society and EPOCH. This tour will be done for the benefit of our guests from Moshi, Tanzania and Miyazu, Japan would also be offered to the delegates who have arrived by now for the Sister Cities State convention.
-3:30 to 5:00 pm stroll, shop downtown Delray. RELAX, REFRESH
-5:00pm -Convention Reception at Old School Square (This reception will be hosted by the DBSC Youth group and will feature the Young Artists Exhibit which includes art work of Moshi & Miyazu students; tour of Old School Square (see statue gift from Miyazu to Delray Beach); Atlantic High School Jazz Band performance at the Entertainment Pavilion.
-8:00pm until - Stroll the Avenue (plenty of dinner sites along the Avenue if more food is desired after hearty reception food)


SATURDAY 4/27 (Florida Sister Cities Annual State Convention Agenda)
-8:00am Parade of Nations/Flags (on A1A from Anchor park to Marriott Hotel) 9:00am (at Marriott Hotel) Opening Ceremonies with welcomes from Mayors of Delray Beach, Miyazu and Moshi.
-9:00am to 3:00pm (at Marriott Hotel) various convention agenda topics
-4:00 to 5:30pm Tour of Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens 5:30 to
-9:00pm (at Morikami) DBSC 25 years Celebration reception and signing of honor of 25 years of friendship and renewal of commitment by Mayors of Delray Beach and Miyazu Signing of special pledge of commitment to new friendship by Mayors of Delray Beach and Moshi.
-Stage entertainment performance by TBA.


-SUNDAY, 4/28/02
-9:00 to 11:30am Florida Sister Cities State Convention meeting to elect officers, receive annual reports and conduct association official business. Moshi & Miyazu guests may be leaving this day. If they are not leaving today, the Sunday agenda for the State Convention may not be very meaningful to them, therefore, the following activities are available and a choice of these could be coordinated into their itinerary and could be done with guests choosing separate things instead of all together for the same things:
-Children’s Day at Morikami
-Church (choice of many different religions)
-Beach
-more shopping
-Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge (Boynton Beach)
-Wakodahatchee Wetlands (Jog Road, Delray Beach)
-Good-bye dinner/party for all (TBA)
-PACK; RELAX for long trip back home
